Women’s programme

23 February 10-12am Movie day (Bollywood movie)
Each last Thursday of the month, New World Foundation hosts a Movie Day on women issues followed by a discussion. All who are interested are invited, both men and women.

29 February 10-12am Tea and Talk
Every last Wednesday of the month, starting at 10 am, New World Foundation hosts a Tea & Talk. Women (and sometimes men) representatives from organisations, groups and individuals in Lavender Hill and surrounding areas who are involved or interested in doing something positivie for their community participate in these meetings. The Tea & Talk is to share challenges and successes and to see how we can help one another.


Youth

Youth Leadership Programme

From 15th February until 9th May 2012
Youth comes together each Tuesday and Wednesday from 15.30-17.30 for computer training and life skills training.

Sports programme

In cooperation with Amandla Edu Football. Programme implemented at various Lavender Hill high schools, from 27th January utnil the 31st March 2012. Final tournament will take place in april (date to be confirmed).

Arts and Culture programme

Weekly drama training classes for youth on Tuesday and Thursday 18.00–20.00

Training

Basic Computer & Life Skills training

From 27th February until 16 May 2012
Participants come together two times a week for 4 hour sessions (total of 8 hours per week) for 13 weeks.

Home Based Care training (Level 1)

From 20th February until 24th February 2012 from 9.00-15.00 (5 days). Faciliated by the South African Red Cross. Application deadline has closed.

Basic Computer training for people working in community organisations

From 21st May until 13th June 2012.


Graduation Ceremony

On the 21st of June, open for all participants that have succesfully completed one of the above mentioned courses/programmes.
